Oxalis dillenii

oxalis dillenii

(oxalis dillenii)
Oxalidáceae

-no endangered genus-

This plant which comes originally from the Eastern U.S. and from the adjacent Canadian areas was probably brought into the Mediterranean region during the 19th century and spread afterwards across almost the whole of Europe. Oxalis dillenii occurs predominately in gardens, parks and cemeteries, in soils which are rich in nutrition as well as moderately dry grounds.
Oxalis dillenii is often mixed up with oxalis corniculata, the leaves of which however turn more conspicuously into red at the margins or on the whole surface. It is also often mixed up with oxalis fontana which shows fewer hair and appears strongly greenish.
