White woodsorrel is predominantly found in Europe's, North America's and Asia's cool and moderate climates - with the exception of the most part of Turkey. This shade-loving plant mainly grows on fresh loamy soils and partly decomposed vegetable layers which are moderately damp and rich in nutrition. The white woodsorrel's leaves contain oxalic acid and oxalates, thus it has a low level of toxicity .White woodsorrel used to be a medicinal and useful plant (additive for salads).
